Heat Recovery & CHP

Capture the thermal energy a simple-cycle generator throws away. Our energy business has been running this discipline at industrial scale for decades.

The Problem

What makes this hard.

  • A simple-cycle generator wastes the majority of the energy in its fuel as heat.
  • Sites with a genuine thermal load — campuses, process plant, district systems — are paying twice: once for power, once for heat.
  • Most power developers have no experience selling thermal energy, so they do not design for it.

Our Approach

Where a thermal load exists we design for combined heat and power from the start. Our refining business is Denmark's largest supplier of surplus heat to district heating, delivering heat equivalent to the annual consumption of around 23,000 households — this is operating experience, not a concept.

What You Get

Delivered as a service, owned and operated by us.

  • Combined heat and power configuration where a thermal host exists
  • Heat exchanger, distribution and metering design
  • Thermal offtake structuring alongside the power agreement
  • Materially higher overall fuel efficiency than power-only generation
  • Applicable at campus, industrial and district scale
